Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast

As the public and media relations manager, I am charged with securing earned media coverage to promote the destination as an option for leisure and business travelers. With the ever-evolving travel market, it's my goal to earn authentic media coverage from credible writers and publications to inspire more visitation to the area. 

With my expertise, positive media coverage showcasing the destination has appeared in a slew of national publications, including Vogue, CNN, Southern Living and USA TODAY. I have established protocols and procedures for strategic communications and have represented the organization and the destination.

Since joining the team, the organization has achieved accreditation through Destinations International, has been recognized as the Tourism Office of the Year by Southeast Tourism Society as well as Tourism Office of the Year for budgets exceeding $750,000, Social Media Strategy of the Year and the Research-In-Action Award from the Mississippi Tourism Association. 

The region has seen recent successes such as 6.2 million visitors to the region, an 8 percent increase from 2015 to 2016, and a direct spend by visitors of $1.99 billion in 2016, up 10 percent from 2015.
